Had a really fab voyage in an INSIDE cabin,as very late booking. No probs with check-in @ So'ton. Cabin smallish but OK.Cabin steward reluctant to remove small tray table..but made so much MORE room avail.Open wardrobe was good and flatscreen TV+Fridge+Tea making+biscuits. Tried Freedom Dining but a disaster...were given pager and waited 45+mins..so transfer to Oriental.Restaurant Manager,John Willard ,was so polite and obliging..he is tops. Breakfast in Peninsular as more "tables for 2".Buffet was a la Mc Donalds so had superb Pizza's,far from madding crowd,on Deck 15. Dined twice in XVII..unbelievably good.P=O have trained the speciality staff for a month in Trieste..and, boy, does it show.We had seafood twice(on " diff menu's).No corkage charge either but £11 in main restaurants. Only griope was that cutlery knives were almost imposs to spread butter/jam. Tiptree conserves. Great that P+O allow wine etc for consumption in cabin..other lines don't..also Shuttle buses were free to save long walks in Corfu+Malaga. Fortunate to have mobility so do our own"tours"..makes a much more exciting "adventure"!! Cruise Director,a young girl called Benni, should be a Butlins Red Coat...Dave Barfoot would have been superb but he is a "minion"!! We enjoyed TRIBUTE shows(Phil Collins/Lulu/Dusty S0 but Manhatten bar was unsuitable venue owing to lack of space.Huge Q's for 2100 Theatre Show. There was a v.good motown singer Vernon Lewis..but his Dad Jimmy James a wee bit past it! Far too many comedians..how BORING are they??!!!! Lots of quizzes but too many Sitcm TV orientated. Very, very good Aviation lectures(Red Arrows,Concorde) by Phil Holt,an air traffic controller(but an Aviation nut!) Very good for me being exRAF/British Airways 747 Captain but was so popular there were NEVER enough seats in Malabar..should have been held in 850 seat Theatre. The ship carries 3100 pax but if "u do your own thing" and don't wanna' be too matey-matey(which we certainly DIDN'T) she's a great liner. We'll be heading back to P+O for more meat..but was poison for some. U can't please all of the folk all of the time!!
