Sorry in advance, this is going to be quite a long one.... After booking this cruise I was a little apprehensive as I expected it to be very different to any I'd done before, plus I wasn't exactly their target group, not by a long chalk.
The embarkation process worked well for me, I was probably at the testing centre 45 mins tops, slight confusion at the port parking, which I'd booked myself, but nothing major. I was a little earlier than my boarding slot, but was sent straight through to security & then onto the transport to ship & finally on & up to my cabin, all in all incl testing it was probably under 90 mins
As I was travelling solo, & wasn't sure what to expect, I had gone for the cheapest option, an inside solo cabin. I've never had a single cabin before so I have nothing with which to compare, it was fine for me as I never plan to spend much time in my room (cabin) when on holiday. The shower room was on the snug side, but I didn't find it an issue (& I'm no Kate Moss), the shower cubicle was actually bigger than the one I have at home & I loved the shower itself, I'm getting one of those next time I do a refit. I didn't have any of the problems that others have reported with the tech even in my room, tho it is possible being on a highish (13th) deck may have contributed.
Bijou, but was OK for one. Shower room quite small but again fine for me, loved the waterfall shower. The bed (small double) was comfortable & I liked playing with the mood lighting. Cabin steward probably loved me, didn't need anything doing, apart from properly making bed after my attempt.
Small port, mostly used by ferry services, went straight through so didn't see much. Arranged to leave my car in the port car park till 5.30 after the cruise, so I could get the bus into town to Historic Port area.
