Sorry in advance, this is going to be quite a long one.... After booking this cruise I was a little apprehensive as I expected it to be very different to any I'd done before, plus I wasn't exactly their target group, not by a long chalk.

The embarkation process worked well for me, I was probably at the testing centre 45 mins tops, slight confusion at the port parking, which I'd booked myself, but nothing major. I was a little earlier than my boarding slot, but was sent straight through to security & then onto the transport to ship & finally on & up to my cabin, all in all incl testing it was probably under 90 mins

As I was travelling solo, & wasn't sure what to expect, I had gone for the cheapest option, an inside solo cabin. I've never had a single cabin before so I have nothing with which to compare, it was fine for me as I never plan to spend much time in my room (cabin) when on holiday. The shower room was on the snug side, but I didn't find it an issue (& I'm no Kate Moss), the shower cubicle was actually bigger than the one I have at home & I loved the shower itself, I'm getting one of those next time I do a refit. I didn't have any of the problems that others have reported with the tech even in my room, tho it is possible being on a highish (13th) deck may have contributed. Read more
