Originally this was a cruise we chose for last year. The work shut down and when we were able to cruise again we got excited and jumped at the chance to go. BIG MISTAKE.
From waiting in line for hours to get the antigen test (apparently there was a computer glitch), to having the only shore excursion we planned getting cancelled, to the stop in Ketchikan that was a complete nightmare, this was a disaster cruise and we didn’t get so much as an apology.
We planned on the Skagway trip (the only reason we actually went to Alaska, and it was cancelled. When I noticed the ship had turned around, we went down to customer service to ask what happened, and the reply we got was “I didn’t notice the ship had turned around”. Seriously, no explanation to what was going on. When we finally got turned back around, they announced that they would be canceling our trip to Skagway and we would be in Icy Straight point for 12 hours. Not much to do because all the excursions filled up very quickly. The trip to Ketchikan was a complete nightmare. They were charging people $8 a person to get a ride into town, but you had to wait in line for 2 hours. We ended up hanging on the ship for yet another day. There was nothing good about this trip except the holiday party at the buffet (had every holiday and birthday they missed).
The cabin was very clean. Very small room with a balcony. Hard to get into the closet because the couch was in the way and I kept dropping hangers.
