I missed cruising during Pandemic and when Crystal announced it was starting Bahamas cruises out of Nassau, I signed up. This was one of the best cruises I have ever had. I am an experienced cruiser (40+ cruises) and usually cruise solo.

After a slow start in Nassau where we were all tested for Covid, we were transported to the ship. The Serenity holds about 970 passengers and was probably 70% full. After checking in and getting a key card we were issued a "tracking device" that was worn like a watch and kept track of where you were in proximity to other passengers. Each time we entered a public space like a bar or dining room, our temperature was taken, we were required to use hand sanitizer, and the crew checked to make sure we had on our tracking device. None of this was intrusive and it gave me a sense of security.

The ship is small but gorgeous. My cabin was on deck 9 aft - a deluxe stateroom with a balcony. The cabin was very well appointed with a queen bed, couch, coffee table that would raise up to be a dining table if desired, desk, and numerous built-ins for storage. Crystal provides many amenities not found in other cruise lines, such as lights in the closets, an umbrella, binoculars, and bar accessories and glasses. I was delighted to discover that I was able to order bottles of wine delivered to my cabin at no additional cost. My bathroom had a double vanity, tub and shower.

Deluxe Stateroom with Verandah

I'm not sure of the category. I had a deluxe stateroom with balcony on Deck 9 aft. I described it above and it was excellent.
