I tried MSC for the first time, like most people on the ship because of the great price. This is my experience recently on the Meraviglia. I got a e mail to check in at 1:40 originally then it was changed to 2:30. My flight got in at 11:00 and we went right to the ship , was welcomed and taken right in at 11:45. The process to get on the ship was less than a hour. Everyone I talked to was worried about hour long it would take. My thinking is that since the ship only had 1,800 passengers they had no problems. The ships next cruise only had 900 to 1,000 people sailing. The number have been going down week after week. My main problem with cruising right now is masks. I struggle so much with the mask that I won't cruise again until mask mandates are gone. The things I expected from their advertisements did not happen and they are these.

I had a reservation to see the circ de sole show in the carousel lounge and when I got on and called to check the time of the show was told the company had filed bankruptsy and would not be a show. No e mail telling me this . The ship atmosphere is not that of a party ship. No parades on the main deck like RCCL. The overhead video on deck 7 last 3 minute and is played 3 times a night.

On the Ocean Key island their was to be a parade after the light show and it was canceled. No reason and it was a beautiful night. The island only had two beaches open and 5 closed. There is also a large construction site in the middle of the island.

Cabin Review

Aurea Balcony Stateroom

Cabin seems narrow and small for a balcony cabin. Balcony is about 4' x 7' with 2 chairs and a table. Beds are hard and small with no top sheet unless requested. Storage drawers are only 2. Shelves are 2, closet is ok. Bathroom had no tissues or hand towels but request what you need and they will bring them right to you. Hallways are not long and straight like on other ships. Elevator on the back are not very far back. You have to walk a ways to get to the elevators if your in the back of the ship. Room stewards are excellent.

Port Reviews

Miami

Terminal C is older but gets the job done. It is strange to not see a lot of people trying to get on or off the ship. I had a good experience checking in the terminal with MSC. Even with covid testing I was on the ship within a hour from arrival by taxi.
