We booked this cruise 9 months ago but as time went on we doubted it would actually sail, especially after having 7 cancelled cruises. But to our amazement, with an act of Congress our dream of being back at sea after 1.5+ months of being stuck on land became a reality.
We had been on the Majestic once before sailing round trip from Sydney to Fiji and other south Pacific islands. We enjoyed our time on her but there are several differences between the Majestic and her sisters. First, there is no Lido deck pizza and it's been replaced by a noodle bar. This was actually a plus for me as the soups were delicious - especially in Alaska, and Alfredo's is a fantastic option for sit-down, fresh pizza. The grill also sells lobster rolls but has all of the usual suspects in terms of burgers, hot dogs, and the addition of a couple of types of street tacos.
There's no Crooners and that space is called VIP Gaming. On our previous cruise it was used for a Crooners-type venue but in Alaska it was underused. There is no Sanctuary but in its place is the Hollywood Conservatory, a nice space that all can use and is perfect for enjoying the vistas of Alaska out of the elements. And the Hollywood pool is covered and kept toasty for those who want to swim.
As mentioned in the main review, cabin M107 was outstanding. It was a forward Club Class mini suite with the most massive balcony extending over the bridge. Absolutely loved it.
