For those with an interest, here is a review of the Star Breeze July 31st sailing Sint Maarten to Sint Maarten.
Chapter 1 - The Travel and Embarkation Process:
After running the gauntlet that is required to enter Sint Maarten, and touring the island for a day, we made our way to the Windstar port facility. It would have been nice if the Sint Maarten port entry had a sign indicating which entry was for Windstar, but it only took a few minutes to sort out which entry we needed. Sint Maarten’s port infrastructure is quite modest – there were just two tent structures, one for arriving guests with folding chairs and another for immigration processing. Despite the meekness, Windstar crew instantly made us feel welcome, kept us informed of the boarding process, and provided beverages to quench our thirst. After a brief waiting period for port clearance, Windstar tagged our bags and took us in small groups to the pier where we boarded the shiny new Star Breeze. Once onboard we were directed to AmphorA for check-in/processing.
Our S1-class suite was fantastic! At 277 ft², the layout and furnishings far exceed that of an upscale NCL suite. Although we were in one of the older suites on Deck 4, just forward of the new section, nothing was lacking. Brand new dual sink bathrooms, power outlets 110V/220V/USB in three locations, and did I mention the full wet-mini bar? Our baggage arrived quickly and we were fully moved in after only a short time.
The anchorage off of Falmouth Harbour provided a great opportunity to visit local historical sites.
