We booked this cruise in April 2019 to travel in August 2020. It was cancelled because of Covid and we rebooked for July 2021 however this was cancelled as well but we were offered a booking for 7th August at short notice. We accepted this gladly as we were ready for a holiday. We booked a Panorama Balcony Suite on the Horizon Deck and I knew it would be lovely as we have been on three other river cruises with Emerald and have had the same type of cabin. When we were checking in, the receptionist said we had been given a cabin upgrade and we had been put in a River View Suite instead. It was the best surprise as it was the most wonderful cabin with a bedroom and a separate sitting area, a walk in wardrobe and a full bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle. It was right on the corner at the back of the ship and had floor to ceiling windows on two sides. The views were amazing. We have always had exceptional service from all staff on our previous Emerald cruises and this time was even better. Unfortunately the cruise should have had 112 passengers on board but on this one there were only 37 passengers and this did mute the atmosphere a little as we do like the buzz of a full ship. On the plus side, this meant that the attention we had from all staff was second to none. The food was excellent as always and the lunchtime barbeque on the Sun Deck was a real highlight. This was such a relaxing cruise and the scenery was stunning. The excursion to Salamanca is a must. It is a lovely city and the guide was great. There is a night time excursion to a vineyard and dinner and entertainment is included and is not to be missed. All in all I can thoroughly recommend this cruise to anyone.

Absolutely stunning. Felt thoroughly spoiled.
