I will start by saying the Edge is a true experience. There are so many new and exciting things about the ship with the same usually great service and attention to detail by the staff and crew. I do highly recommend a cruise on this unique class of ship and I will probably repeat. There are great aspects of this ship and some not so great, so only in my humble opinion here goes.

Starting with the not so great. I don't think Celebrity values it's Elite Captains club members as much as it's parent company Royal Caribbean does. The Captain's club host, David, and his staff were exceptional on this cruise, so absolutely nothing against them. There is no "diamond lounge" as on Royal, only two hours of happy hour from 5pm to 7pm in selected bars and NOT in the restaurants. So if you want a glass of wine with dinner, you have to find a bar on the way to your selected dining room. This is probably no big deal to most of Celebrity cruisers because of the "always included" pricing that most folks pay for. We don't drink that much or use the internet, so paying for it doesn't make sense for us anymore. The approximate difference in fares was over $1000.00 The bar's that are available to get a cocktail or a glass of wine while at dinner are inconvenient should you not want to buy one. By comparison, RCCL places four beverages on a Diamond members sea pass card to be used any time of day in any venue. Happy hour is in the diamond lounge generally from 5pm through 8:30pm.

I'm not a fan of the "infinite veranda" I so much prefer a balcony where I can open the door and sit outside enjoying the ocean, the breeze, the sunsets while inside the cabin remains cool. Also a great place to dry my towels, swimsuits etc. Consider the infinite veranda a large ocean view room with floor to ceiling window. I could not get my window to open to enjoy the sound of the sea and the breeze.

Cabin Review

Edge Veranda Stateroom

Larger than any other balcony I've been in with a great bathroom, exceeded only by Holland America.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

Due to local restrictions, we couldn't leave the ship unless on a Celebrity Excursion.

Nassau

Nassau is kind of Blah. Not a real fan.

Roatan

If you love to snorkel or scuba this is an A+ destination. For anything else, not so much. I would recommend taking the catamaran snorkel trip. I didn't and somewhat regret it. I got a private van to the west end beach and went snorkeling on my own. It was good but not great. Cost vs Cost, I think the better bang for the buck would be a catamaran tour.
