First. Let me start by saying I missed cruising so much. I am thankful for the Vaccine mandate by NCL, as it allowed us to cruise with no limitations. The cruise experience onboard was exactly as it was pre-covid other than the crew in their masks. Speaking of the crew, they were incredible. You can tell how happy they were to be back, and they treated us amazingly. The ship was spotless and overall very enjoyable. Our dining experiences were wonderful, as was our onboard entertainment. Choir of Man was one hell of a show, I encourage uou to see it. With the Glacier viewing, I encourage you to pay for the excursion that gets you in close, due to the Encore's size, it cannot get in too deep.

We missed Skagway due to a medical emergency, and then were late to arrive in Ketchikan. (More below). Additionally the covid testing pre cruise was a hot mess, with multiple delays and people waiting 2 plus hours for results. I hope they get that figured out soon.

Overall, we loved our cruise and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Balcony 9762.

Room was spacious, modern, and comfy. The room had the most storage space we've ever had on a cruise.

Port Reviews

Ketchikan

This was a mess. Ncl has a new pier in ward's xoce which is 7 miles or about 20 miles from the town of Ketchikan. The only was is via shuttle, and there was only 2 shuttles running for 2900 passengers. This was on top of being late to port by 2 hours. This resulted in people waiting 2 plus hours for a ride, and prevented some from going into town

Skagway

Canceled/skipped due to medical emergency

Juneau

Not happy with the scheduling of only 6 hours in Juneau. It did not allow for any exploration of the town if you did an excursion. Our helicopter Glacier tour was cancelled due to weather, but we were able to do a different tour. However, unable to buy any souvenirs due to time.

We did the Glacier explorer excursion to go on a smaller boat to see Dawes Glacier. This was breathtaking and absolutely amazing. Worth every penny, you get in much closer than the cruise ship itself will.
