We were originally booked on the X Edge for March 15, 2020. Packed and ready to go when they closed down cruising on March 14. We opted for FCC's and made a couple of bookings that were, of course, cancelled. FINALLY, we made a booking that paid off. We were happy to be back, and the crew treated us like royalty. We booked a suite this time, only having balconies on past cruises. This Sky Suite (lowest class of suites) was on the aft starboard corner of the ship (7356) It was huge by our previous standards. Only drawback was long hike to elevators, but we needed the exercise. The ship holds about 3000 px, but there were only 1200 onboard, so we never found ourselves in a crowd or having to wait in line for anything. The Retreat staff were spectacular! Kudos to Glenn (our butler), Jonathan (Retreat Host), Mircea (Retreat bartender), Bianca (hostess), Marie and all the servers in Luminae. We dined twice in Murano, and had same server both times (Sophia, I think). She was wonderful. Had dinner once in Tuscan Grill, but can't remember the name of the server (there were no bad ones). Did not see many shows, but we really did enjoy Tim McTigue, the comedian and Eddie Jenkins, (Social director or cruise director). He had a great sense of humor. The bartenders at the Martini Bar (Bagus, Nyoman, Janu and Agung) were spectacular! They juggled, and did all kinds of tricks that kept everyone entertained. Bagus perched the martini glass on his head and poured the martini into it. Amazing!!

The best show in town was Captain Tasos. He was hilarious, and made us laugh every time he made an announcement from the bridge. I had seen "Liars Club" on other cruises, but on this one, Captain Tasos was the star attraction. It consisted of him, Eddie Jenkins and a guy named Pete (don't know his position). I laughed so hard, my sides hurt. At one point, he turned to Eddie and said (in his thick Greek accent) "Why did you invite me here? I should be driving."

The embarkation was very fast. Don't know if it's always like that for suite px or if it was because the ship wasn't even half full. Zipped right on and had lunch in Sushi on Five before going to our cabin. At the end of the cruise, we waited in Retreat Lounge until last call, so disembarking was a breeze. Caught the bus to Park 'n Go, and 45 minutes later arrived home in Boca Raton.

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 1

Very spacious with comfortable sofa, and two comfortable chairs. Lots of storage in closets and drawers. The fridge was tiny but cold. The angled balcony was a little strange for furniture placement: Large round table, one lounge chair with a foot rest that doesn't prop up your feet, and two regular chairs for the table. I will bring my inflatable ottomans next time.
