We flew to Ft. Lauderdale the same day as our cruise and arrived at the Ft Lauderdale airport at 12:15 pm and had our luggage at 12:45 pm. Our scheduled boarding time was 2:30 pm but at 1:30 pm we took the taxi to the port for $19.15 plus tip arriving at 12:50 pm. There was no problem that we arrived ahead of our scheduled boarding time. We went thru several stations, each looking at our passport and COVID shot card. At several stations they took pictures of both. It took about 15 minutes and we were on board. At about 4:45 pm we got a call that they had no record of my wife’s COVID shots after they had taken a picture of it several times at check in, so when they came to the room to see her card they also took a picture of my card again. Not sure what the problem was. We had requested a table for two for supper but we checked our table and it was a table for eight so we went to the Maitre’d and had it changed to a table for two. You could tell by the empty tables in the dining room that they were no where’s near capacity. We heard that there were 1100 people on this cruise. We understood that all the inside rooms were filled but there were a lot of vacant balcony rooms. I know the balcony rooms on either side of our room were unoccupied.

On the second day we were in Nassau. It was a cloudy and rainy day. We were on the starboard side of the ship and could see people getting on and off the ship. It was a holiday in Nassau. Some people did get off the ship but not all that many. We had heard that a lot of the stores were closed. We could see from our balcony that they are working on another dock which we heard would accommodate two additional ships. We have been to Nassau many times so we did not get off the ship.

Originally we were suppose to go to Grand Cayman on day 3 of this cruise but they are not letting ships come in so on day 2 we went to Nassau instead. So now we have 2 sea days back to back. The captain said this morning that we were only cruising at 10 knots on our way to Cozumel. If you follow Cruise critic you will likely find someone who is organizing a slot pull on a sea day. Today, we along with 26 other people did a slot pull. If you have never done one they are a lot of fun. We also did it with most of the same people the next day. In Cozumel the only way you could get off the ship was if you were on a ship’s excursion. The following day we were in Costa Maya and they allowed you to get off the ship but you had to wear a mask.

Cabin Review

Our cabin was a concierge cabin. It was the standard balcony size cabin.
