We were lucky enough to have our bid excepted for an inside on yacht club which was our first time experiencing the ‘ship within a ship’ on MSC.

We did not queue once the entire stay! Boarding was easy and simple. Before we went we weren’t sure about having a butler or pool attendant ready with towels when we appeared on the sun deck but we soon warmed to it. Everyone was professional and was friendly. We were actually grateful to be taken to the shows by our butler and speciality restaurant and walked in to our seats. I imagine this is particularly good for a lone traveller or people who don’t know where to find things on a large ship. Primas was our butler and he was just brilliant with a perfectly gentle demeanour and calming presence.

Daytime activities and entertainment was good although didn’t offer a plethora of choice as NCL does. This is fine for us but others, especially on sea days, found it a little lacking. It would have been good to have a question and answer session with staff or films in the afternoon on a sea day.

Cabin Review

We had upgraded to yacht club but this meant we were in an inside not the balcony we had originally booked. The inside seemed exactly the same as ordinary inside but the treats left there every day and service was good. The breakfast in the room had a lot more choice than usual such as berries, pancakes and waffles. I’m not sure if all the TVs are large widescreen but ours was much better than the tiny ones we have had in the past.

The inside cabin was really close to lift that went to restaurant, bar and sun deck so very good for anyone who doesn’t find it easy to get around.
