We joined 10 other friends and family members and found the embarkation to be very easy. All of about 10 to 15 mins. We found our balcony room easily, however, were treated rudely as we entered to drop off our carry ons by our room steward. He was not all happy to see us and claimed the room was not ready. I had to convince him we would get out of his way once we dropped off our two small bags. He never once during the cruise identified himself. We had to ask for additional towels twice and two days never received in room ice. We found the room to be comfortable and clean. We then all joined and proceeded to the Windjammer for lunch which we found to be only adequate. The ship was beautiful, nicely appointed and easy to get around. Since this was the largest ship we ever sailed, we were pleased that the 3600 guests did not seem at all overwhelming. The ships service overall was poor compared to our experiences mostly on other Carnival owned ships. The dinning room service was the worst. We were told that RCL had removed 200 servers etc. to the new Oasis. Our asst. server never had served before, being moved that day from being a room steward. Our headwaiter never could remember our names, we were rushed to order every night and the first night we finally received our bottle of wine half way through our meal. After the second night of poor service we complained to the head waiter, but the service never improved. We had to ask for additional water and rolls every night. We did not feel appreciated with no interest shown at all. On the pool deck, there was only one ice cream bar open with a minimum wait of 30 people in line at all times. This did not please the to two youngsters with us. We found the entertainment to be excellent and enjoyed our time spent in the Schooners Lounge. The indoor ice show was marvelous as well and worth taking in. We encountered a disturbing situation when we completed our Ship Survey the final night and was not so kind in our comments regarding our cabin steward. Prior to dinner we turned it upside down and left under some personal belongings. Upon return to our cabin we found the belongings moved and the survey was gone. After meeting and complaining to the Head Housekeeper and the Manager of Guest Services, we were not at all pleased with their reactions and were told to call RCL Corporate, which we did to no avail and was told they would look into it. That was 6 weeks ago. No response yet. shows how much RCL values their customers feedback. The disembarkation was of a surprise, when not one single crew member was in site to thank us and wish us a safe journey home. Comparing the poor level of service versus other Carnival owned ships, there is no comparison. We will sail other Carnival owned ships any day over RCL. GOODBYE RCL.
