I've seen some less than stellar reviews regarding the RC Western Mediterranean. If you will notice, most of the complaints seem to be focused on alcohol problems, and posted by alcoholics (IMHO). The Allure of the Seas ship is fantastic. We had a junior suite (Deck 7, 666) , and it could not have been better. If the shore excursions of Palma de Mallorca, Marseille, Florence and Pisa, Rome, the Amalfi Coast and Pompei are not good enough, then you can't be satisfied. I'm a pretty discriminating traveler, and I don't cut anybody undeserved slack. But our cruise, in August of 2015, was spectacular in every way. We were in perfect health at the time. My wife was diagnosed soon after we returned with Glioblastoma (a rare and extremely fatal brain cancer). so, this was the best and last trip we made in our 44 years of marriage. If you can take this cruise on Royal Caribbean, you will certainly not regret it.

Unless you were expecting free alcohol.
