We boarded on March 1 for a B2B that would end in San Diego. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, the 2nd cruise was canceled and we were told we would be disembarking in Santiago, Chile. At that point, we were eager to get home so we really didn’t mind. However...that was not meant to be as Chile refused us docking and to make a long story short we had to sail to San Diego. 17 straight days at sea. Didn’t know I could enjoy so many sea days but I really did.

So the cruise itself was very good. While I prefer smaller ships, we can’t always afford to travel that way. We booked aqua class on both legs but used a move up offer and were assigned a sky suite. In retrospect best thing we could have done given that we were 30 days onboard. We love have the amenities of the sky suite. We did have one of the suites that was directly below the ocean view and we did hear the moving of cards at odd times during the night but it didnt really bother us. It wasn’t constant. The bathroom and shower are excellent and I love Bvalgari products. The extra space was a blessing too with plenty of room for all of our shoes and clothes.

Luminae was the other blessing. We don’t like buffets and one night we tried the main dining room and found it crowded, rushed, not very personable. On the other hand, Luminae has tables that are well spaced out. Mostly for 2 people. Service is impeccable because you are seated in the same section every night so have the same wait staff who know exactly what you like and how you like it. Tony, our waiter even remembered what we had eaten the week before and how we had our steaks done. He was an absolute gem. I don’t think I will ever sail again with Celebrity without being in suite class.

Cabin Review

Sky Suite 2

Cabin S2

Cabin was large and well appointed. Bed very comfortable. Plenty of drawer and two closets with lots of hangars. Bathroom was roomy and the tub was a nice feature. Good service from the butler who made sure we had whatever we needed.
