Everything onboard Celebrity is always great, but this itinerary was not my favorite. The people onboard were also different as there was a huge mix of Argentina/EU/Americans, etc. People from all over the world that spoke other languages.

Everything in the ports was just far to get to as it is such a remote place in the world. The days of cruising were excellent and would definitely recommend them including Cape Horn, Glacier Ave, Chilean Fjords, etc.

All around, this cruise was just strange. The people weren't that friendly, including the staff - until - we were all stranded at sea outside the port of Chile, where we were denied entry. After that happened, everyone - cruisers and crew, became very friendly and we had the best service out there! Captain Leo was amazing with his communication and announcements helping to calm the passengers. We spent 15 additional days onboard and those were very fun! We had tons of activities and were able to experience life at sea.

Sky Suite 2

I will never book another sky suite on deck 12. The noise from the oceanview was super irritating especially in the early mornings. It sounded like a thunderstorm when the carts would go past. I don't know why they put the suites under oceanview. It was convenient to get to the pool/fitness center, etc, but I would much rather be on deck11 so I can sleep throughout the night.

Port Reviews

Puerto Montt

There is absolutely nothing to see in this port and it was not worth our time to even get off the ship.

Punta del Este

This town is safe and easy to walk around. It was hot out! Definitely recommend the marina, which is about a 15 minute walk from the pier. The seals were hilarious and HUGE. The hand statue was fun, but get there early before there are lines of people. The statue was maybe a 10 minute walk from the ship - it was close. No excursion needed in this port.

Montevideo

This town didn't feel as safe as Punta Del Este. You can just wander through the old town as it is really easy to get around. Free Wifi throughout the town. I wouldn't waste time on an excursion here as there wasn't much interesting stuff to see.

Buenos Aires

Beautiful city! Very similar to France/Italy and absolutely nothing like Mexico. Easy to get around - we took taxis everywhere, which were safe, just ask that they use the meter.
