Now that we have settled back into reality after our two week cruise, I will try to post an objective review. We absolutely loved the 14 day itinerary and of course it helped that we were blessed with beautiful weather and calm seas. We were really happy with the Amsterdam ship and crew.

This was our 4th HAL cruise in Alaska, so we didn't need to see everything at the usual ports. I should mention that we like to walk 4 or 5 miles a day which helped balance out all those wonderful dinners. We took advantage of opportunities to walk or hike in all of the ports and walked laps around the Lower Promenade deck on sea days and early mornings.

The scenery from the ship was spectacular especially around the Kenai Peninsula enroute to Anchorage, Homer, and Kodiak. The tall mountains were completely covered with snow, and the waters were alive with humpback whales, Dall porpoises, sea otters, and puffins. Of course, I don't need to discuss the beauty and grandeur of Glacier Bay and Hubbard Glaciers.

Large Interior Stateroom

Cabin I

Good inside cabin with great location close to midship elevators and close to the exit to the Lower Promenade walkway.
