  • Destination: the Western Caribbean

We have cruise on numerous cruise line including Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Norwegian. This was our 16th cruise and we are in our mid 20's. Let me just say that we were a bit skeptical about going on this ship as previous reviews mentioned it had an older crowd. We picked this ship solely on the ship itself and let me say that it did not disappoint.

Food/Dinning : There were plenty of options on board. We either had breakfast in the dinning room or in the Oceanview cafe which by the way was great. We are not big fan of buffets, but there was a lot of selection and the layout and design was elevated. The higher than usual ceilings made a big difference. For lunch, I would recommend Eden Cafe. It offered made to order Sandwich and Soup and they were all fabulous. For supper, we had selected dining and alternated between the 4 dinning rooms. We really liked this concept. We were a total of 8 cruisers and never waited more than 30 minutes for a table. We did not dine in the speciality dinning as we felt the food in the main dining room was excellent.

Ship : Let me just say that this ship is AMAZING. Every area is so thoughtfully thought of. All the venues are very well design and so modern! We never felt crowed onboard. The Eden is something out of this world. There was plenty of quiet area to relax and read a book around the ship.

Spa : We had Thermal Suites passes which we enjoyed very much. We were a little sceptical that there would be a lot of people at the same time at the spa but this was not the case. We never had an issue having a heated lounger and the different rooms only a minimal amount of people at the same time. We would highly recommend as it was a truly relaxing experience.

Entertainment : There was a lot of things going on at night to keep you busy. There was always a spot were live music was playing and different shows in the Theater. They also had shows in The Club and in the Eden. It is true that the entertainment is little more geared for an older crowd, however, we still had lots of fun and danced more than on previous cruises.

Cabin : We had a Infinite balcony stateroom and had read mixed reviews on this type of room, however we preferred it more than a typical balcony room. The floor to ceiling window with the possibility of opening it up to let the fresh air come in was great. The room was very modern and spacious. We enjoyed being able to control the lights and blind from the mobile app. Let me just say that the shower was bigger than the usual shower on cruise ships.

Service : Excellent!

Embarkation/Disembarkation : Very efficient!! We had expedited arrival on our boarding passes for check in and from the time we stepped foot in the building to being on the ship, it took 10 minutes. We arrived at the port at around 11:30. Disembarkation, we did self disembarkation, went in the Eden at 7:20 and were out waiting for a taxi at around 7:40. Very quick as well.

Captain Kate is truly amazing. She makes the daily announcements very interesting and understandable. She truly is a gem and is visible around the ship.

We would not hesitate to cruise again on the Celebrity Edge, the most beautiful ship we've even sailed on.
