We traveled as a couple - ages late 50's. We have been on 5-6 cruises with no loyalty to any brand. This was our first with Celebrity. We pick cruises based on itinerary; however, this was the first time we selected based on the actual ship. We loved this cruise. If you like more of the traditional large main dining, follies type shows, water slides, rock climbing walls, etc. this ship is not for you. It is more modern, contemporary and so are the shows. There is not much for children to do on this ship.

Embarkation/disembark: Both on and off the ship was quick and smooth. We had little waiting getting on and off. We chose to self assist getting off and it went quickly. We walked right up to a shuttle van, $11/each and we were off to the airport.

Dining: We did select dining using the Celebrity App for reservations and had no problem getting in right away. We did stay away from the busy times of 6:30pm-8:00pm which works well for us anyway as we like to dine late. A few nights we showed up a little earlier or a little later and got right in. We ate in all 4 different "free" dining rooms and had lots of variety and never felt like we were eating the same thing. Service was excellent.

We did not do any specialty dining so I can't speak to that. We like to use our money on shore excursions and time spent off ship vs. paying extra to dine.

Shows: We went to a few shows held in both The Club and Theater. Can't remember all the names. We liked the contemporary modern theme to them and unlike some reviewers, felt that compared to other cruise ships there was actually more to do at night than other cruises we've been on. Multiple shows and entertainment going on in both venues at various different times.

Bars: We had a drink in all of them:) We especially liked the Sunset Bar and Casino Bar. It was quieter and easier to converse with other passengers and make new friends. The Martini Bar which is sort of the hub of the ship we found just to be okay. Seemed like it was more of a place to have a drink before or after dinner. A little too mellow for our taste. The bartenders do put on a show at least once a night which is fun to see. Above the Martini Bar is a "Cafe" with deserts and coffee. We did not partake in this but it seemed pretty popular and people were really enjoying their coffee and dessert after dinner. Again, it was an extra cost and we tend to stay away from stuff like that on cruises as there is never a lack of food, sweets, treats, etc. that are included with the cruise. Tip: Skip the dining room desert offering and head to the Oceanview cafe after dinner. There is 5x the more selections that what is offered in the dining room.

We found this ship to have many more spaces than other cruises that had places to quietly read book or converse with friends. The Roof Top Garden was super cool and during the day you could practically have the whole place to yourself. Eden was a bit strange and definitely different that you will not see on any other ship but in all actuality it was a nice change to the same old like you see on other ships within all their spaces. The Solarium (indoor pool) area is super peaceful and also a great place to just chill.

The service was nothing but excellent as was food at the Oceanview buffet. This ship exceeded our expectations on food compared to a Carnival or Royal Carribbean. Cruise ship employees were always very friendly and accommodating. Always a smile on their face which I can imagine can be hard when you're taking care of 2,000 passengers.

We had an infinite veranda and really liked it. People mention it's not a balcony and they are correct, but it is not sold as a balcony. It is, and appears on your paperwork as "infinite veranda". (Do your homework people.) It made the room seem bigger with the floor to ceiling window and had a darkening total blackout curtain for sleeping. It does have folding doors if you want to close it off, but we just left it all open the entire time as it gave us more room an we really enjoyed it. Would select this room type again. We also like that the entire room air cond, open close windows can be done using the Celebrity App. We loved the App and used it to load our daily activities we didn't want to miss out on. You do not need to purchase internet package to use their App. We loved that!

If anything could have been better it was the small group entertainment. The single guy or small group of 3 singing in the lounges. Just felt they weren't that good; however, it didn't ruin my experience at all so I an keeping with the 5 star rating. Thank you Celebrity! We will be back!
