I was a first time cruiser and was delegated by my group to research cruise lines, destinations, and deals. After countless weeks of research we voted on the Norwegian Cruise Line porting out of NOLA. We were very pleased with our rates, cabins and service we received from NCL before and during our cruise.

We contacted NCL to book a group cruise, we received 10 balcony cabins and 1 solo cabin. I diligently watched for price drops and we received a great discount per cabin. Our rate also included free airfare, with the exception of our solo cabin. NCL flights were booked without a hitch giving us ample time before and after our cruise.

Our NCL group coordinator was absolutely awesome. Our experiences were superb.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Our cabin was very clean and very spacious, lots of storage and bathroom was big and loved the shower. Husband used the shampoo provided in shower and was very content. Balcony was an awesome feature to have. We should have started with an interior cabin cause now we are certain we would not want anything less than a balcony. Cabin steward was awesome and our room was attended to twice a day. No we didn't receive animal towels but so what we would rather them spend the time to clean diligently which they did then spend the time creating towel animals.

Port Reviews

New Orleans

New Orleans was sooo much fun. Visited and ate at Central Grocery the Muffleta, Cafe du Monde the beignets, Acme Oyster the Chargrilled Oysters, Ruby Red Slipper the Banana Foster French Toast. The Cathedral was absolutely beautiful, the Cemetary 1 and Voo Doo Tour was very informative. Hand Grenades and Hurricanes were awesome.

Roatan

Part of our group took cruise excursions and said that it was their favorite port. Those of us who did not book an excursion thought it was our least favorite port. Do yourselves a favor and book an excursion. The ones who booked did the zip line through NCL and loved it.

Harvest Caye

We were tendered in, dock was under repair. Nothing else NCL could do, so we lived with it and made the best of it. We booked Parasailing through NCL and it was spectacular, the experience and the guides were awesome. Was disappointed that Land Shark was no longer there, however we did have drinks and lunch at the new establishment. Day grew very hot and was glad to re-board tender to ship.

Costa Maya

Loved this Port, shopping and lunch at Don Lolo's was great. Didn't seem to big but big enough to get lots of shopping in. This was our short stay port and heard some people did not make it back on time. Don't know how that happened with signs everywhere from your room to postings all over the ship as to when to return. Don't shop the middle shops, you will find wayyyyy better deals as you walk around. Some of our group did the Water Park and said it was fun but not 100.00 a person fun. Just an FYI
