We chose this cruise for 2 reasons. First we had sailed on the Divina a few years ago and absolutely loved it. Secondly it was the right timing for our schedules (2 couples). We arrived at the cruise port for our embarkation time but had to wait 1 hour and even then our cabin was not ready. The cabin was not what we thought we were getting. It was quite small and there wasn’t a sofa (as depicted in the picture of balcony cabin). We had booked early dining but were told it wasn’t available. It was well past 10:00 pm when we finished dinner. After the 1st night, we did get changed to early dinner. The wait staff have too many tables to deal with. We were 8 people at our table and by the time the last person got their food, the first person was finished. The menu was not as good as it could have been. Very little variety and also items that you had to pay for (steak, lobster). The food in the buffet was mediocre at best. Always cold. We thought we would have breakfast in the dining room one morning and that was also cold. This cruise had over 2200 vegans onboard. We went to the theatre every night and the shows were good but not great. The entertainment throughout the ship was not the best. Same performers singing the same songs at the same time in the same place every night. We had the easy beverage package. It wasn’t worth it. Limited choice of drinks. You could get a Barcadi light rum but not a spiced rum. Last time I checked they both cost the same in the liquor store. I could get a virgin daiquiri but not one with rum (but I could order a shot of rum as well as a virgin drink). The service was not as good as other cruise lines, we have been on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Norwegian. My husband booked the sauna package and there were never any towels. We pre-booked the steak house. First our beverage package didn’t cover the wines available so we had to go to the bar outside and bring our wine with us. We were told that we could only order from one side of the menu and only one of each ( appetizer, entree and dessert). Anything else would be an extra charge, like a baked potato was $4.00. We definitely will not be cruising again with MSC.
