The exterior of the ship showed a lot of rust and the windows that were not accessible from an outside deck were covered with seawater residue. To Carnival's credit, some of the rust was being painted over at each port.
We enjoy relaxing with beverages around the pool. Not on this ship. Hip-hop music played over speakers I believe were purchased used from McDonald's Drive Through. Beyond annoying. Alcohol aggressively pushed in this area.
I understand that the Carnival theme is "FUN", perhaps there is sometimes too much fun. My handicapped wife was knocked to the ground by a drunk having fun dancing backwards through the crowd outside of the casino.
Ocean View cabin. Window was opaque, too dirty from seawater that it was not possible to view anything in detail outside. Horrible TV picture and worse sound; movies available on a schedule (that could not be read because of poor video quality) instead of on-demand as experienced on several other ships. One of two lights not working in the bathroom (the one that worked was a new fixture). Inadequate seating, if you want to watch TV or read, you have to go to bed. Other than that, the cabin was clean and the bed was comfortable.
Arrived a day before embarkation and stayed overnight at the Acacia Boutique Hotel. Reasonable room rate; best described as 'historical'. Best/safest ground transportation is Taxi Service. Generally considered unsafe to wander around dark neighborhoods at night.
