Not worth the extra money

We chose this cruise for the ports that we wished to visit. But we ended up having to cancel 3 of the ports due to the corona virus. While we understand the chiefs of the various islands deciding against our ship visiting, there was no offer of compensation for even the port taxes. Also we learned of the cancellations much earlier than was announced by the ship's captain. When we went to guest services to inquire all they said was they didn't know anything. We feel the communication with the guests was poor. We upgraded our cabin to the concierge level and that was definitely not worth the added money - a tiny cabin, almost unusable shower (due to size) and the only benefit was 3 bags of laundry at no charge.

In addition, embarkation was the slowest of any ship we have ever cruised - not counting the added time for health screening, once we got upstairs to check in, it was a 45 minute wait!

The excursions were ridiculously expensive - we only did one and booked all the rest privately.

The food selection in the Grand Dining Room was ok - but the service ranged from outstanding to very mediocre. The staff was lovely - we do not fault them.

Cabin Review

Concierge Level Veranda Stateroom

We liked the renovated color scheme in our cabin but it was the tiniest room we have had in all of our cruising (this was our 11th cruise). We literally had to step aside if either of us wanted to move around in the cabin. The shower was made for midgets too. It was a one person bathroom. Also, we were in the tropics and had our A/C set to 15 degrees and it was still very warm - too warm to be comfortable.
