  3. Celebrity Edge
We have sailed enough on Celebrity to attain "elite" status and have always enjoyed our experiences. We chose to sail "Edge" because my wife really wants the experience. We traveled with friends (another couple). BTW, Edge is really an adult only ship as there seems little to do for anyone under the age of 18. The ship common areas are unique and well done. The stores on board are all high end retailers, so don't look for deals. The cabin (Aqua Class) was very good and loved the infinite veranda. However, the designer obviously never sail, why are there NO hooks in the room; to hang backpacks, jackets whatever. The lack of hooks meant the couch was the holder of all those items and thus useless for sitting. I would normal give the staff an 10 / 10, but our room steward was clueless. With Aqua class we get certain perks. Flavored water, canopies, a pillow "menu"... Never received any waters/never asked as to whether we'd like, had to ask for our feather pillows 3 straight days until we got them. Finally, we never received any embarkation notice (including tags). Fortunately, we decided to walk off with friends. We ate in Blu (for Aqua class), 2 of the "regular" restaurants and the Roof Top Grill (premium) . Blu was excellent with wonderful service a BIG 12 /10 for them! The regular restaurants were good, but the tailoring to a specific cuisine (Italian, french, etc.) missed the mark. The Roof Top Grill was great! great Food / service/ over looking the ocean... As to communication, as already highlighted, there was little. Other than the daily talk from Capn. Kate, there were no announcements, ever. We were never told when we could get off ship at port (we just went). We had some issues and tried often to see the rep at the Captain's Club, never to find anyone! I spent over a half hour on the phone waiting for the "relations" desk to pick, no one ever did. This speaks to lack of people working there. When we asked a question of officers, they had to look to staff for an answer! The spa was good, my wife loved her treatment (1000 flower wrap) and the Aqua class facilities (why we do Aqua class) were some of the best on Celebrity. That said, the locker rooms are pretty small and only about 4 people can really be there at a time. The gym was well equipped and most machines in working order. Finally, back to communication issue, I was waiting for my treatment (a shave); got there 15 prior and sat there for almost 45 minutes before the attendant came. I fully expect delays, but it would have been REALLY NICE if someone (i.e., MANAGER) would have simply said sorry we are running late. NOT A WORD! I was literally 10 second from leaving... Anyway, I feel compelled to write this unvarnished review...

Cutting edge design, good food (Blu) but very poor communication
