We are experienced cruisers (18+) with five different cruise lines and trips to five continents.
We choose this cruise based on a positive experience on MSC Meraviglia last year in Med. Beautiful ship, great itinerary. This year looked at "sunny" options in Feb, with MSC, choose Seaside, great reviews, new ship out of Miami.
Limited options were available, mostly same on two week cycle, we booked Back to Back to get our 14 day cruise. Ship was amazing, very clean, modern, family oriented and big.
MSC needs to enhance offerings to build business out of Miami, lots more port options, need more 10/14 day cruise options as well. Back to Back was ok, but very repetitive, same menu in dining room, same shows, same daily activities and crappy sales.
Highlight was private island, Ocean Cay. NO tenders, ship docks, beautiful beaches, best Private Cruise Island by far.
Dining room staff were excellent, menu has good choices, food was good (not best ever, but very good).
Theatre shows were well done, Michael was unbelievable, other shows good, but all had similar elements in several shows.
Be prepared for announcements, introductions, etc in several languages, not a hugh deal, but can get to be a bit much at times.
Itinerary was good, very impressed with Costa Maya, clean, lots of attractions right at port. Downside was Ocho Rios, docked at industrial dock, set the tone, not a inviting town at all.
Excellent cruise for families, and lots on board, activities inclusding watersides, bowling ally, F1 car, zip line and tons more.
Cabin steward was excellent, went above and beyond, overall ship has high cleanliness standards. Be aware Balcony room have limited storage, v small closet, pack light.
Overall, MSC was good, we booked already for next year, have some issues to work on, but expanding rapidly.
We got upgraded to Mid Ship, Fantasia room. Cabin was great, only downside was limited storage, small closet, only 2 drawers.
