We wanted to visit Hawaii, and at the same time, renew our wedding vows. We love sea days and this cruise had many. From the moment we came aboard we had a terrific experience. Now, truth be told, the Star is far from the pride of the Princess fleet. It is showing its age with rust lines all over, leaking ceilings in many places, older carpet in passageways, and so forth, but the crew worked hard to keep it as clean as possible and their attitude and smiling faces overcame any concerns about the ship. From the dining staff, to the entertainers and cabin staff, the crew was wonderful. Our vow renewal was everything we had hoped for and more, from the captain officiating to the rose petals scattered on our bed that night!
Even though we had to skip Kauai because of the wind, the other stops were just fine their were shore excursions for everyone.
We particularly liked the variety of entertainment around the ship, and the Piazza was our destination for several hours per day, just for the variety of entertainment and the great food in the International Cafe. Crooners Bar on Deck 7 was another favorite for us.
Typical mini-suite, with room to move around. Plenty of storage, and for once, plenty of hangars in the closet. Full tub so there was plenty of room. We don't eat on the balcony but there was plenty of room to do so.
