We go for the newest ships, often sucked in by the gimmicks plus the itinerary. In this case it was the race track and laser tag and the chance to try a new line. This was our 8th cruise -- previously we've been on Disney, Royal Caribbean and Carnival.

For our "free perks" I had selected 3 specialty dining (Cagney's, LeBistro, Ocean Blue), 250 minutes of wifi, and the drink package. Food I felt was on par with other lines except not many complimentary choices for lunch. For example nothing on the pool deck except the buffet. I've never done specialty restaurants before. It's fine if it's included but I wouldn't pay for them. Main dining room is perfectly sufficient for us.

Staff I felt was on par with other lines. Typically if you're friendly and treat people with respect they respond in kind.

Cabin Review

Mid-ship Balcony Stateroom

We really liked this cabin. The balcony is angled and much bigger than other cabins in the same class. There was plenty of room for a chaise, two chairs and a table. The 8th floor was convenient to the theater, atrium and many venues. And the garden cafe buffet was also forward so it was just a quick elevator ride up. We didn't experience any noise in the cabin although it's close enough to the theater to potentially hear some sound when the shows are going on. The couch converts to a bed and a bed comes out of the ceiling to make a kind of bunk bed so that there is accommodation for four.

Next time I'd consider trying the equivalent room on the port side because there is a shorter walk to get there. (For this room the corridor that runs on the starboard side is staff-only so you have to go walk to port side by the District and then walk back to starboard.)
