The cruise to the Amazon is an excellent cruise, although there are a lot of at sea days. So bear in mind that Viking does not have large shows, casinos, or a lot of shops. But that said, the Viking Sea is a very nice ship which is well designed and has enough open spaces so that you never really feel crowded (except during port talks where the entire ship tries to show up in the Star Theater). As usual, the Viking experience is very good. Their policy of unlimited wine and other drinks at meals is very good. Dinner at the chef's table (changes every 3 day) is not to be missed. Those dinners include a wine partnering with 4 wines per meal. Given their standard policy, you really have to drink a lot to justify the beverage package. Manfredi's is very good but not exceptional Italian fare. The ability to eat in the standard restaurant, the World Cafe, or in your room (all with similar menus) really makes Viking a good deal (that and there are no formal nights - only collared shirts and no jeans required for men in the restaurants make it perfect),

Cabin Review

The room is fantastic. A bedroom and a large seating area bigger than the bedroom. Very very nicely designed. The only downside and very good reason to avoid this cabin is that it is directly below the pool area and the crew starts to rattle the deck chairs at about 6:30 and then puts them away about 10 or so. It is very distracting and loud so be warned. Other than that the room has a large wrap around balcony that lets you see about 90+ degrees of view. The lounge chairs on the balcony are absolutely wonderful. That, coupled with room service to your large table in the room makes it really really nice, despite the noise from above. This class of room also has a free mini bar. While not extensive, it is ample and stocked each day.
