Cabin: The Haven Spa Suite with Balcony

So for our Honeymoon we decided to splurge on a suite and decided to cruise with Norwegian because of the Haven suites. We got a spa suite and the room was very nice. having a full king bed was way better than two twins squeezed together. Our Butler Percy, the Steward Emmanuel, and the Concierge Bowen were all top notch. So on to the part about the Haven suite not being worth the money. The embarkation process was a mess. We were told to go the Haven Suite waiting area. We get there and there are already groups of people standing around. After talking to a few of the other guests we find out who we're behind in line. A lady from the counter instructs us to sit down and we would be checked in. As we are sitting and waiting, more people show up and then are checked in before we are even though we have been waiting. How hard is it to pass out numbers and then call the next person who is waiting? The process was very unorganized and got people upset. Then onward to the Haven restaurant, by far the worst service that we received on the whole ship. we weren't offer bread and had to ask for it for our first meal there. Then we had breakfast there the next morning and it wasn't anything special. So we decided to give it another chance for dinner. We had a reservation and were promptly seated at 8:00 pm. Once again we did were not offered bread although all the other tables had bread baskets. We ordered and our appetizers did not arrive until 9:00 pm. An hour after we arrived. We did not get our food until 9:40 PM. I had to speed eat my food because we had a show to catch at 10:00 pm. That was the last time we ever went back to the Haven restaurant. As far as the private Haven pool area, we never went because there were always kids there. It would've been a lot nicer if it was an adults only area. I get it, families booked the suites as well and they are entitled to use the area just like everyone else so we just stayed away. The thermal spa was a pretty area. The problem is that Norwegian asks that you don't reserve seats and limit your use of the heated seats to 30 minutes but it was never enforced. The hot tub was more of a warm tub and the thermal pool was luke warm as well but I'm pretty sure that's how it was intended to be.The nicest part of that areas was the steam room which was really nice and the salt room. We were offered priority embarkation which was pretty much useless in Tortola and Puerto Rico since we docked. It came in handy in Stirrup Cay when we had to tender. My only complaint was once we got off the elevator we immediately ran into a line of people waiting to get off the ship as well. The people that had been waiting looked at us as if we were cutting in line. Norwegian should have someone escort the guests to the front of the line and then tell the Security officer that these are suite guests with priority disembarkation for the tenders. We paid over $2000 more for the suite versus a balcony room and the amenities we got in my opinion were not worth it. On a side note, the food on the ship was average. Cagney's Steakhouse was mediocre as well as La Cucina. Moderno Churrascaria was a pleasant surprise. We ended up there when we couldn't get reservations for Ocean Blue. Moderno had the best service and the best food on the whole ship. Hopefully this review is read by people in the Norwegian company and proper steps are taken to make the Haven amenities more worthwhile for people that pay the extra money.
