THE FOOD =. Let’s start with the food. The main restaurant looks nice to lull you into a false sense of security ... order fish... pretty close to their natural environment what can go wrong?.... wet spongy bread crumbs with wafer thin fish floating on a bed of water .... breakfast a very strange lamb sausage and rubber egg..... cram everyone into one corner and if you have the utter cheek to ask to sit somewhere else the shock and confusion on the waiters face that he has been lumbered with a stray sheep is all too obvious
So we paid an exra £150 to have the privilege of having 3 meals in the speciality restaurant. 1. The dining club ... cold...empty ... ( should have read the signs there) ... foie gras floating in fat and a very basic meat dish.
2. Kora La ... slightly more people .....most in crew uniforms ..... presented with a prawn wrapped up in deep fried pan cake mis masquerading as tempura prawn. Watery madras......
3. Surf n turf ....give me strength did I really sign up for 3 meals!,,
My husband spoke to the chefs and explained the problems. They exclaimed with delight yes sir you know a lot about cuisine. My husband has huge experience in cuisine and hotel management and won’t be fobbed off.
ENTERTAINMENT =. The production shows are nice. Scotty Miller the comedian was good fun. The Robbie Williams tribute looked like him but doesn’t 45 mins shouting. The over 40’s women liked him. The bands are a bit boring. No rapport! Just standing there looking into space. The singer whingeing about being on board for so long ( if you have to whinge do it in your own time not during my £1000 holiday,). The best the band can give is functional .... like musical wallpaper (and not the outrageous 70’s stuff but the dreadful bustling woodchip kind).
CREW =. There are a few little gems. The Asian girls on reception and the lovely African waiter who does everything with a smile and bags of enthusiasm even though the barman calls out Boy! When he wants him. I found 70% of the crew either grunt, scowl, look at your cleavage or avoid you like the corona virus. Given that the entertainment hosts are sweet and try hard
So my experience is.... a grossly over priced cruise because I’ve had to come in school time. Miserable crew and basically crap food!
Will I cruise again with Marbella ... not if I have the choice of camping in the out backs of Glasgow. I’ll opt for Glasgow.
Tui can take you to the sun but they can put a huge black cloud on your holiday.
Cabrini’s quite nice
Didn’t take any
