  3. Norwegian Getaway
We chose this cruise for the itinary and free offerings. The embarkation was not very good but no fault of Norwegian, weather conditions delayed entry into the Mississippi river. The actual check in process was slow due to Norwegian check in people thoroughly examining all passports for travel to and from China. Our stateroom 11832 mini suite and balcony was smaller than we were used to but the bathroom size made up for that. The stateroom attendant was not to good, the closet doors still had hand marks from the previous occupants, the mirrors were not cleaned all cruise and no vacuuming was done. The Tropicana dining room is too large for the staff to handle and if you are seated by the stage, conversation is difficult. We used the Taste and Savor dining rooms and they were very good nice and intimate and service was good even though the menus were the same. We found the pool too small and having two bars right there, people were sitting around the edges of it. The barstaff were good but even better when we dropped them a dollar each time we got a drink. The Skyye Ice bar was a novelty but disappointing because it was just a freezer with a block of ice in it as a throne. One port call was a farce getting off as there was no direction from staff to which elevators were being used, consequently people were standing in the wrong lineup. All shore excursions were ok except the Stingray city sandbar one which was a rip off. There were to many people in such a small area, The guides were pushing people to have photos done with a Ray. This was very cruel for the Rays due to the guides picking them out of the water and posing them with people. There was no way you could film Rays actually swimming freely. Apart from the negatives all in all it was a good cruise Disembarking in New Orleans was a breeze and the airport transfer was fine.
