I was given this cruise as a gift. The up-charges started before I got there. Admin/Port fees were charged. The "free" beverage package came with another $200+ in fees (how can you call something free when it isnt?) The ship holds 4000 "guests". There are lines everywhere. For the elevators, on the stairs, at every bar. Could not get reservations at the PREMIUM (extra charge) venues....always prebooked. Only had one time option for the headliner shows. One was cancelled due to cast illness, no notices, just showed up and found out at 10:30pm. They did add a showtime, and reschedule us, and the show (Choir of Man) was great. Also saw Kinky Boots, which was also very good. The staff was great, the food was good. Just had too many people in my way -all-of-the-time- Next time I will pick a smaller cruise ship, or skip the boat and go direct to the islands instead NCL = No Cash Left lol One word of caution.....if you buy jewelry at a port -when they say "tax and duty free"....That only applies to LOCAL taxes and duties. When you re-enter the US, you are going to get hit for 3% on the first $1000 and 6% over $1000 So, buy a nice ring, or watch and you are going to get hit with $500 or $600 extra duties. If you try to sneak something in, and get caught the fines are huge!!!!
Was surprised how well the cabin was done. There was a nice big bed, a nice shower, and more room then I expected. Couldn't get an cabin upgrade....but the base cabin was fine. Ended up spending more time there then planned, to get away from all the crowds everywhere on board. Cabin steward's wanted to clean the cabin line 3 times a day!!!
