We have been frequent Princess Cruisers and really loved the experience. Princess had great food, entertainment and service. Tended to cater to mature adults. Not anymore. The new ship was attractive but lacked the glamour of older ships. We like real wood finishes and upscale look. The chairs in the theater were smaller and uncomfortable as well as the thinner lounge chairs on the deck to fit more people in. Entertainment was poor. They had one decent band. The shows poor. Mostly cheap comics and magic tricks. They discontinued the balloon drop for New Years. They ran out of champagne buckets and on black tie night we got our Moet Chandon delivered to the table in a plastic Budweiser ice bucket. The good band was put on the top deck and the formal party in the piazza was very low. The food as well was very inconsistent. Never an exceptional dining experience. Mediocre dining. The cost of Princess was nearly $5,000 and we would of been better off on a $2,000 Carnival Cruise. There were over 500 children on board. Appears that they are also marketing different. It is a shame and it sounds like we will go back to Celebrety to have that special feeling. And by the way, we completed our Princess Survey with our concerns and at 5 weeks later with no response. Carnival bought them and they are ruining a successful line.
