I love this ship. The extension and redesign made it a different ship. This turned into a cruise to nowhere because several ports denied entry to us because of the Coronavirus scare. SilverSea handled it beautifully, keeping everyone informed and at the first sign of trouble offering 100% refunds plus free return flights home and a 25% reduction for a future cruise. When we finally were permitted to dock at Laem Chabang, Thailand (Bangkok), we had spent 10 days in service and culinary bliss, all courtesy of SilverSea. Some people don’t handle uncertainty well, so there was consternation for some passengers, but the overwhelming majority of passengers behaved well under the circumstances. That is a tribute to how well this was handled by SilverSea and the ship’s staff. I have nothing but admiration for all of them. Aside from the unique situation of this cruise, this is my third time on this ship, twice since the remodel/extension, and it is one of my favorite ships. The staff is exceptional.
