Celebrity, Celebrity, Celebrity.. You touted this ship as the coming of the Lord. Where do I begin? First off, I love most of Celebrity ships and have sailed on most of them. Celebrity sell,s cruise,s because of there reputation of having fantastic food.. So let's start with that. The food was great, no issue's at all. The main issue was going to 4 places to eat every night, unless you bought the specialty package. Problem number 1. No matter if you made reservations to any restaurant, you always waited to be seated, sometimes for 30 minutes.. Next..service in restaurants... Fantastic. We always ordered an extra entree to sample with no issue's.. Next.. Cabin's! We had the infinite veranda cabin.. Sorry, its not a veranda, not even close. They attached 2 sliding doors right past the couch and rug, placed some hardwood floor down with 2 chairs to sit on.. Its a rectangular window that opens up half way from the top to a cross bar that blocks your view.. Problem number 2. There is a cloth screen that is in front of it that has to be raised to lower the window, or closed for more privacy.. So you have to stand there and hold the switch while it slowly opened or closed. Than you repeat the same thing to open your half window..Now when your ready to close the so called veranda, you once again hold the toggle switch and the window slowly raises up making noise and struggling to close back up.. What a stupid idea. Making you stand there holding a switch instead of installing a simple button that did it for you.. Next, the Grand foyer. Most ships have this beautiful stairs that you walk down dressed up in your best attire to the bottom. Not on this ship. It has 2 stairs that lead you to, yeah you guessed it, a bar and a small dancing area.. Next, those bar's and the drinks that come out of them.. Unless you purchased a beverage package, either classic @ 59.00 a DAY, or a premium @ 69.00 per day, you can easily run up a huge tab in one or two days. Example,1 Pina Colada is $9.00, plus $3.00 gratuity, but! if you want a Baily,s say for instance, It,s a $1.00 more.. Celebrity, Celebrity, you have people pay for a drink package and still charge them $5.00 for fresh orange juice plus a gratuity.. Want a Cappuccino? Ha, It,s $5.00 plus gratuity, ridiculous! On sea day number one, the pool and the deck above where full of people sitting on there chairs if they could find one that did not have been saved with someones false teeth or prosthetic leg.. Bar servers? Ha, 1 person above pool deck struggling to take drink orders and 2, maybe 3 at pool, none of which could keep up for bar service .. Next up, entertainment.. At sea day number 1, with all those crowds sweating waiting for there drinks, it was around 230 maybe 3 pm when someone said, where is the music? It was dead silent for most of the day, sort of like a funeral setting.. Than finally, some female starts singing but most people where leaving to once again stand in line to be fed..Night entertainment.. In the Theatre it was average, but one of the best highlights was the four tenors Vox Fortura who sang opera twice that week, they where fantastic.. Excursions, Most cancelled because of bad rough seas, causing people who booked on there own to lose there money of what ever they where going to do when the ship sailed buy Costa Maya and headed to Cozumel. I,ll be back later with more..
