We booked the cruise in September when I discovered a great deal on a suite guarantee and realized it was a Moveable Feast special cruise. I participated in Celebrity's MoveUp bid program and was successful on my bid to upgrade to the Edge Villa.

We flew in to Fort Lauderdale the night before embarkation and stayed at the Hampton Inn Airport. The best part about the hotel was it offered free shuttle from the airport and was right next to a strip shopping center where we could buy last minute "needs" for the cruise. The hotel offered a shared-shuttle to the cruise terminal for a fee but Uber was cheaper for two people.

Prior to the cruise, Celebrity contacted us to get our preferences for the room set-up and our arrival time. They also emailed a sign to put in the front window of the Uber to allow us to pull up to the Priority Exclusive Drop-Off which specifically serves the passengers in Royal Suites and above. There was a representative ready to escort us upstairs to a very nice waiting area with pastries and beverages. We were the first ones there but still only waited about 15 minutes before someone came to personally escort us onto the ship. Check-in was done through facial recognition and the Celebrity App so the process was so fast I hardly even remember it happening.

Cabin Review

Edge Villa

The cabin is as beautiful as the rest of the ship. We loved the hot tub on the balcony but it was not quite as convenient as we hoped since it had to be filled for each use then drained and cleaned afterwards. Our cabin attendant faithfully filled it each night as we requested and cleaned it while we out and about the next day which enabled us to end each evening with a soak before bed.

There is no overhang on the balcony but it did not inhibit our use of it. In fact, we really enjoyed the extra privacy of balcony.

The livingroom/dining area on the first level of the suite were nicely set up to enable us to entertain guests most days. We informed our butler when we planned to entertain and he made sure to have snacks and drinks set out for us to enjoy (at no charge to us). We even hosted a party with 14 people one afternoon and the space did not feel crowded at all. We met a number of really great people during the cruise and it was nice to be able to share the space with them.

The upper level has most of the plentiful storage space in the suite, although there is a closet and drawers on the lower level. The master bathroom is enormous and well designed. There is no wall closing off the master bedroom from the rest of the suite but it is not visible from the lower level. The bed faces the floor to ceiling windows and the shades to cover them are operated by remote control so you can lay in bed and enjoy the view or relax in privacy. For those who like to watch tv in bed there is one hidden in a panel on the ceiling that drops down on command from a remote.

Being in a suite so conveniently located to the Retreat area allowed us to easily take full advantage of those amenities.

One important note, the stairs in the suite are steep and this room would not be desirable if you have any mobility concerns.
