We booked the cruise in September when I discovered a great deal on a suite guarantee and realized it was a Moveable Feast special cruise. I participated in Celebrity's MoveUp bid program and was successful on my bid to upgrade to the Edge Villa. We flew in to Fort Lauderdale the night before embarkation and stayed at the Hampton Inn Airport. The best part about the hotel was it offered free shuttle from the airport and was right next to a strip shopping center where we could buy last minute "needs" for the cruise. The hotel offered a shared-shuttle to the cruise terminal for a fee but Uber was cheaper for two people. Prior to the cruise, Celebrity contacted us to get our preferences for the room set-up and our arrival time. They also emailed a sign to put in the front window of the Uber to allow us to pull up to the Priority Exclusive Drop-Off which specifically serves the passengers in Royal Suites and above. There was a representative ready to escort us upstairs to a very nice waiting area with pastries and beverages. We were the first ones there but still only waited about 15 minutes before someone came to personally escort us onto the ship. Check-in was done through facial recognition and the Celebrity App so the process was so fast I hardly even remember it happening. Our escort onto the ship guided us to our stateroom so we could drop our bags and then took us to the Retreat Lounge to wait until lunchtime. We also met our butler, Hilario, and our room attendant, Theodora, who pampered us all during the week-long cruise. The lounge was fairly empty so we were able to meet all 3 concierges and get our dining reservations made for the entire cruise. Our cabin was right next to the Lounge so we took full advantage of the convenience of handy snacks and drinks. The ship is absolutely beautiful and every crew member exceeded our expectations for hospitality and service. As suite passengers, we were assigned to dine in Luminae but since our suite included all of the specialty dining options, we took full advantage of that in order to all of the specialty restaurants. While Eden was our favorite, we found things to love about all of the other venues as well. We only had a slight "blip" in our cruise experience and that was regarding the dinner after the chef market excursion in Cozumel. The dinner was fabulous, but after a late start to the pre-dinner galley tour, we did not sit down to eat until almost 10pm - too late for me to really enjoy all of the delicious food. We only participated in a few activities on the ship during the day and those mostly centered around the cooking classes and demos offered because it was a Moveable Feast cruise. At night, we had multiple options that interested us and we generally gravitated to whatever was the least crowded option. We like to dance and found the Club to be the best venue for that. Our favorites were the Abba sing-a-long and the silent disco. For those who smoke (and those who don't), the smoking areas were tucked away in places that were accessible to those who wanted them but avoidable by those who didn't.

Cabin Review

Edge Villa
Cabin EV
The cabin is as beautiful as the rest of the ship. We loved the hot tub on the balcony but it was not quite as convenient as we hoped since it had to be filled for each use then drained and cleaned afterwards. Our cabin attendant faithfully filled it each night as we requested and cleaned it while we out and about the next day which enabled us to end each evening with a soak before bed.

There is no overhang on the balcony but it did not inhibit our use of it. In fact, we really enjoyed the extra privacy of balcony.

The livingroom/dining area on the first level of the suite were nicely set up to enable us to entertain guests most days. We informed our butler when we planned to entertain and he made sure to have snacks and drinks set out for us to enjoy (at no charge to us). We even hosted a party with 14 people one afternoon and the space did not feel crowded at all. We met a number of really great people during the cruise and it was nice to be able to share the space with them.

The upper level has most of the plentiful storage space in the suite, although there is a closet and drawers on the lower level. The master bathroom is enormous and well designed. There is no wall closing off the master bedroom from the rest of the suite but it is not visible from the lower level. The bed faces the floor to ceiling windows and the shades to cover them are operated by remote control so you can lay in bed and enjoy the view or relax in privacy. For those who like to watch tv in bed there is one hidden in a panel on the ceiling that drops down on command from a remote.

Being in a suite so conveniently located to the Retreat area allowed us to easily take full advantage of those amenities.

One important note, the stairs in the suite are steep and this room would not be desirable if you have any mobility concerns.
