Embarkation--checkin was expedient--there was rather long wait to get the group on the ship. I pre-purchase the unlimited beverage with zoom package and unlimited dining. Started the day with lunch at Jamie;s Italian, server Rim was excellent. Meat plate was great. Checked into stateroom 9670 - I did receive a Royal upgrade from a Ocean Balcony on the 11th floor to a spacious balcony on the 9th floor--the life boats did partially obstruct the view--but the room and balcony were quite large. The bad thing about this room is it's right above the smoking area, I have asthma so leaving the door open at night was not an option. Muster was cramped, hot and really uncomfortable. There were too many coughing people crammed into one enclosed space--i was a little worried about catching something being so close together. Dinner at Chops was good--didn't do any upgrades with this meal, Shrimp cocktail was just ok, filet mignon with yukon gold tased potatoes and asparagus were all good--key lime pie was excellent. Day 2 at sea - dinner at Wonderland--this was the most amazing experience and the food was fantastic. Romeo my server was excellent. Seas were rough the shows I had reservations for were cancelled. Bermuda was extremely windy--the cavern tour was great--zoo was really terrible. Dinner at Jaime's on the outside deck was really great with the wonderful ocean breeze. I enjoyed room service for breakfast every morning--there is no coffee maker in the room, so it was great to start the day with coffee and breakfast on the balcony. The least impressive restaurant was Izumi, service was horrible, pork dumplings were burnt, I had ordered a glass of wine, which was not brought to me and the server never checked on my. Lobster roll and surf and turf roll were both very good. The next morning the charge was on my bill - had to call customer service and had it removed as it was included in the dining package. Overall Izumi was an unpleasant experience. The casino was nice--smoking area was very smokey--the ventilation was not good in that area. This was really a great ship for families all of the activities and venues were family friendly.
