We chose this cruise explicitly because there were no “at sea days”. We chose Viking because of stellar reviews with no casinos nor children. Being a very new boat, just 4 or 5 years old added to the allure.
The airfare (which was included right from Victoria) was a bonus. Connections were in the acceptable range, but actual flights were hardly direct. It took 24 hrs pretty well both ways door to cabin door & back - very long. The boat itself was near perfection. Very clean and extremely well kept. Crew was exemplary in almost every way. The organization of the entire cruise was near to flawless. The food was exceptional, and all the restaurants (not cafeteria) were very well managed. Very limited wait times for seating & service were always acceptable. The stateroom, penthouse balcony, was spacious & well thought out. The head was lovely - only room for 1 person at a time, but that was to be expected. I thought the balcony was a little small, but still offered us lovely moments to enjoy the sea air & magnificent views. The included excursions were informative, didn’t love the giant coach drives, but they had their good points. Most of the optional excursions were terrific. Especially the catamaran trips.
On the downside weather became a problem right from the cast-off. We left a few hours behind schedule which could have been an issue with our 1st port of call, however that became moot when we couldn’t even dock at our 1st port of call. Nor the 2nd one! All other ports were achieved. Another weather issue disallowed us to experience our most highly anticipated excursion. This was further exasperated when my husband & I got separated when I returned on board after the cancellation of our excursion to unload our gear, only to be denied at the gangway to leave the vessel as it was about to be repositioned. We were given inaccurate information as to a timely disembarkation notification. Many of us were very upset not knowing how long this would take. It took over an hour for us to reunite, almost ruining our ability to see any or much of the island. The crew worked hard to try to correct anything they possible could - that must be said. My only negative comments regarding the food & beverage aspect would be the World Cafe, & the overburdened Wintergarden. Workers could not seem to keep up with busing tables every time we went there. In the Cafe we sat at dirty or unset tables in order to have a meal. Drinks also either took a long time to get or there was no table service apparent. I went to the bar to get our alcoholic beverages each time we went there except once. Ted talks were well liked as were various cinema or theatre activities. I will try to go on another Viking Cruise for sure, however I cannot say the same for my husband.
Clean & well thought out. Quite a reasonable footage. Bed was fantastic. Mini bar acceptable. Head lovely but small. Shower was great. TV with all the information on it & continuously updated was informative & accurate. Lighting also very good. Very nice cabin.

We never got to dock - very unhappy!
Never got to dock here either. Beyond upset & unhappy! We had booked my dream excursion.
Wonderful time was had by all. After disembarking it did take an hour to finally board our vessel, so not a great start. A boat before us had a near disaster when a guest fell into the water, any other concern. Crew was exceptional in every way. Very fun & informative. Lunch was delicious & resort was fabulous. Bus ride to & fro the resort excellent. Continuing on our cat the crew showed us beautiful bays & we even went swimming at an amazing beach.View All undefined undefined Reviews
Barbados Beach Break - was satisfactory. Bus driver was informative & amusing. Driving thru Bridgetown was a bit of a disappointment. Was expecting it to be either more vibrant or more quaint. It's was surprisingly bustling, but looked unkempt.View All 167 Beach Reviews
A wonderful experience with an exceptional crew, they were professional, entertaining, informative & surprisingly good cooks! Weather was not great at all, but with this crew, it didn't matter at all. Wonderful stop at a quiet & beautiful beach before a delicious lobster lunch back on board. Then off to another quaint beach where swimming and lounging in the sun was possible with weather improving.View All 123 Catamaran Sail Reviews
Very disappointed not to be able to go on our purchased America's Cup 12-Meter Regatta. Winds were beyond the acceptable range. Had to regroup quickly, very difficult due to a repositioning of the ship in which my spouse & I were separated. We finally were lucky enough to catch an included bus tour of the island. Driver great!View All 437 Island Tour Reviews
This was not expected to be one of our more exciting excursions, however the 45 minutes to & from the beach was disappointing. Not at all a pristine example of what I thought Dominica was all about. Black beach was lovely - a little too close to a dirty looking river mouth. We were worried about the cleanliness of the ocean, so no swimming there.View All 16 Beach Reviews
This bus trip gave us a very fine example of what St Thomas is all about. Great driver took us around the island with wonderful stops along the way. Very informative & great views. Thanks.View All 291 Island Tour Reviews
We didn't originally book this excursion. We took it as our original "Secret Sands Beach Getaway" was cancelled. Very smoothly done by our excursion crew! Seamless transition to Kon Tiki which was not our 1st choice, but turned out to be a lovely boat ride thru the bay with a wonderful beach stop where I swam & beach-combed to my hearts desire. Hubby relaxed on the quiet beach & suntanned. Food & drink was available at a very cool beach hut. Nice!View All 68 Kon Tiki Boat Reviews
