Ok...this will be a long review. This is not our first rodeo and with 60 cruises completed and being Elite at Celebrity and other cruise lines and being shareholders of RCL, the parent company of Celebrity we believe we know what's what. The ship looks nice on the outside and internal but its functionality is to be debated. Much wasted space. It is impossible to find a quiet place to sit in the mid section of the ship even when dinning in the expensive Fine Cut Steakhouse at $55.00pp on the 5th floor as the pounding music from the 3rd floor makes it almost impossible to hear conversation. The classic martini bar has been replaced by one that seats only ten people and is in a poorly designed location on the third floor. To get a martini one must get in line at one end as the ten seats were always full. Who thought that one up? Servers are around but hard to find. The 3rd floor dance floor is tiny and partly carpeted. What is this? Ten couples on the floor and it is crowded. There are steps leading up and down so it is a fall/trip hazard. We saw three shows and they went from average to poor to terrible. The Eden show is dark. What the heck is going on there? The show times at 7:30PM and 9:30PM make it very difficult to enjoy dinner if you are dinning at 8PM. As i mentioned before the $55.00pp uncharge for the Steak restaurant is improper. Princess only up charges $29.00pp for the same quality without the noise. Several other speciality restaurants are overpriced. Why pay a $20.00pp uncharge at LeGrand for a tuna sandwich when the same can be had at the beautiful Oceanview Cafe for free. Shaded seating on the main deck can be limited but of course you can pay for a covered cabana along the edge of the main pool. Who decided to put hot tubs up in the air with a hike to get there from the pool deck? As far as our Infinite Veranda stateroom goes we did not like it. The window slides down and worked throughout the cruise but we miss the traditional balcony since someone could still sleep in bed and the other could sneak outside and give a separation. There is no separation or curtain between the bed and the rock hard couch so if one person is up and the other is still trying to sleep it is a challenge. Who thinks it is a good idea to place the TV across from the bed instead of the couch? To watch TV, then a couple must be in bed. That is nuts! And the free movies are ok if you mostly like Marvel movies. The selection is poor. Of course for $15.00 you can rent movies. That is a ripoff considering what we paid to be onboard. Upon checking into our stateroom one of our robes had makeup on it. Also the bed covering for luggage on the bed was filthy and we removed it. The bed was ok but the pillows were hard as sandbags and we requested and received two soft pillows from our room steward. Sometimes we had difficulty in obtaining Evian water with our Premium Beverage Package. If not at the Martini bar the martinis were very small. Order two at a time once you get a servers attention. This they will not allow despite the fact that we paid a good price to the package. Now The good. Food in the four traditional restaurants as well as service was excellent and the places are beautiful. Our reservations for 13 people made months ago worked perfectly. The food selections and quality at the Oceanview Cafe were excellent. The organization there is well designed. We purchased a transfer to Miami airport and were to leave at 9:15AM but were left seated as the staff were trying to fill the bus with folks with flights after 3PM. It took a revolution by me and others to get us going. It took three hours to get us to Miami. Never again. Overall if it were not for the excellent food and service there we would rate this cruise as poor and 2*. We will not sail again on this ship. Sometimes designers get carried away and management does not pull them in and they all get lost in the trees. We think that is the case here.

Cabin Review

Edge Veranda Stateroom

We do not like the concept. Poor location of TV across from the bed. Hard pillows and couch. No table in front of couch. No balcony is poor design.
