This was a special event for a special birthday. We were a group of four from the UK - two couples. Right from the start the level of service and attention to detail were amazing - from the embarkation process, the cabin, the food, the excursions, the explorers lounge. We had the silver spirits package and this proved to be a great addition. My husband and I love cocktails , so we could try them all if we wished. I highly recommend the chefs table - we visited 4 times! And with the spirits package we had premium wines. We are now researching a river cruise for next year and maybe an ocean cruise the year after. I don’t think we stopped smiling the whole time...it was just a lovely experience. We stayed in the igloo hotel in Alta, went on a snowmobile in Sweden, and took a trip in a cable car in Tromso. And the food - in every restaurant onboard - was excellent. I love Viking as I prefer a smaller ship and don’t want too much fuss...I love the lectures, films and scandi design.

Cabin Review

We went for the slight upgrade to have soft drinks and snacks and earlier access to book excursions. You have 24 hour room service included. The ‘snacks’ were three small chocs per day so not really necessary but the earlier booking was invaluable as I wanted to stay in the igloo hotel and this sold out quickly. We will go for this level of cabin in future - enough room and everything you need.
