Wanted to have a look at the Voyager, and particularly as supposedly recently renovated. Cabin 6232 was our cabin on the sixth deck. No renovations, brick hard bed, mould in shower, rust on balcony. No tissues, no toiletries. From the time of boarding was bombarded with sales whilst walking, sitting in the bar, even while eating in the main dining room- drink packages, dining packages, spa treatments, kitchen tours, orange juice, even when buying hair spray (forgotten) sales person tried to sell me earrings. The drinks are sold in US dollars, this caught some of the guests unprepared as does not specify currency. Beer av $7.50, spirits $8.50 but the lemon lime &bitters was classified as a virgin cocktail and cost $8.50. Convert to AUD, expensive. But this did not deter the passengers. Many, many drunk and rowdy party goes. This maybe more because of the limited voyage time, being treated as a party time. Dressing extremely casual, shorts and thongs in main dining, towel wrapped patrons dripping in Windjammer, fight to get seating in buffet and bars, and could barely move to walk down deck 5. When trying to pay account on last night, 4 staff at desk, 69 people in front of me, waited 40 mins and as many waiting after I had been attended too. Food in main dining, woeful. Steak could not cut or chew. Chicken asparagus pie, no asparagus and looked and tasted like baby food.
The good - staff at dining, bars and room attendant lovely.
Embarkation and disembark quick, easy. Big emphasis on hand washing.
