We usually choose Celebrity for our cruises, but will do other lines if a bargain appears. We are Elite and have cruised on the Reflection a couple of times before. She is still in good condition but having recently cruised on Edge, maybe she’s looking a little dated. The cabins are extremely short of storage drawers and shelves and we resorted to using our carry on bag as an extra cupboard. Having said that, our cabin was kept in good order. The crew on this ship are extremely friendly and obliging. However, the Captain was noticeable by his absence. On other cruises the Captain mingles with the guests and makes himself known. It may have been because the first three days of the trip the weather was quite rough and in fact we couldn’t stop at our first call, Antigua, as the port had to close due to the weather conditions so maybe I’ll give the Captain the benefit of the doubt as he was doing his job!!
The food in the main dining room was better than usual. I am challenging to feed and the Maitre d’ and all the waiters we encountered, especially Dezlino and Puji went above and beyond to ensure I had something delicious to eat. Thank you for all your help. The Oceanview Cafe has the most amazing variety of dishes and are, at last, including more vegetarian choices. Let’s hope this option continues to expand. The entertainment was hit and miss. In comparison to Edge the production shows were amateurish and poor. There were a couple of good comedians but I am sorry but I am bored with the Cirque style acts. I appreciate the talent but really, when you cruise with Celebrity time after time, it does get repetitive.
The shops too have become boring and repetitive. The toiletries section seems to have disappeared and the merchandise is the same on every ship.
