Wanted to get away and spend some time in the sun. Overall I did get some much needed time away and relaxed. There were some amazingly good points about this ship and some not so good moments as with anything.
This is an extremely large ship but I was able to find ways to avoid the crazy crowds. The highlight was the Thermal Spa. This is one of the best-kept secrets and well worth the upcharge. The area is open, relaxing, and isolated from the crowds. Okay, the snow room is a bit much but you can float your cares away in the warm pool with jets.
One thing that struck me was the attention Directors paid to the guests. They were constantly rounding and seeking feedback from guests. If there were issues they were quick to find a fix. It felt like a leader was rounding seeking feedback every day. They truly wanted to make your experience amazing. Unfortunately, not all of the staff buy into the concept of service excellence. Most of the bar staff seemed annoyed, disengaged, and just plain unhappy. There were definitely exceptions to this. For example, the guy at Starbucks was amazingly engaged and friendly. He looked like he actually enjoyed his job. Another notable shout out goes to Agnelo from the Manhattan Room. He was the highlight of service on the ship. Cinder in the Local was very good as well.
The solo cabin is perfect for one. Amazing, amazing, amazing. Ended up having an adjoining room with my brother. This worked out perfectly for us. Could open the door and have twice the space, close the door for some time alone.
