We chose this cruise for two reasons. Firstly, we sailed previously on the MSC Divina and enjoyed it, and second, the reasonable price. There was an offer for basic drinks package and wifi, which when added onto the cruise price, kept the cost reasonable. We were unable to dock at Grand Cayman due to weather, however stops at Ocho Rios and Cozumel were excellent. In Jamaica, we took the very good Bob Marley Nine Mile tour. Lots of reviews complained about the Rastas pushing ganja (weed) on them, however that was one of the highlights. Our tour guide took us to the 'pharmacy' where two Rastas told us about the weed, and people were free to buy a toke. Interesting, you could smoke it anywhere on the museum property (which was across the street) but smoking cigarettes was not allowed. Once inside, they were a bit pushy about buying drinks from their bar, but we didn't even go in. The drive was very scenic and you can see the real Jamaica, not the tourist areas. We took a private tour in Cozumel (Cozumel Bar Hop) which was excellent. The ship is beautiful, and the crew was very good. There was lots of food in the two buffets and line ups weren't unreasonable. Not all the food in the dining room was great, for example, one night I had excellent rack of lamb, but they put the same crappy gravy on it that was on the steak the night before. There was also a very good pizza bar. We did not eat at any of the restaurants. There was a chocolate bar mid-ship and the over powering smell of the chocolate reaches quite a few areas and is quite sickening. The first night we went to the show and were not impressed, so only went to one other one, the Michael Jackson show, which we had seen on the Divina. Make a note that you have to make reservations for the shows, which can be done thru the app on your phone. Some of the shows in the atrium were good. The best was disco night where the crew got everyone singing along and dancing together. The best outdoor show was the 'silent disco'. We were not impressed with the shows in the various bars though. Most were very sedate. Although we are in our sixties, we do like to dance and have fun. We didn't think there was enough of that, so some evenings we were pretty bored. The ship has a fantastic water park. I went on the transparent water slide that goes out over the ocean. Scary but fun. There's a great jungle area for kids. There are lots of lounge chairs on the various decks. Just a note, that this is not a cruise line where most passengers are North American. I would say more than half the passengers are European, mainly Italian. It gives a very European feel to the cruise.

That's one big ship!

Cabin Review

Fantastica Balcony Stateroom
Cabin B2
Very happy that having booked a Bella inside cabin, were upgraded to a Fantastica balcony stateroom. The cabin was very nice, not too small, and very clean. The only complaint would be the couch, which can be folded out. The seat cushions seemed to be too big for it, and were always slipping off, and it seemed like cheap material.
