We have travelled on 2 or 3 cruise lines, but with princess cruises more than any other cruise lines including p&o, their associate cruise line. Satisfaction & familiarity are a good description of our cruises. All in this group offer this but l believe we have become used to what princess offers in regard to entertainment (night shows), meals, room service, loyalty programmes etc. Embankment & disembarkment was the quickest we have ever known for a cruise both from our home port of fremantle, w.a. But also at ports visited. Whenever a tender was needed to ferry us to shore, this was done as expediately & as safely as possible given some weather conditions were not good at times, e.g. Kangaroo island. Staff everywhere were very helpful, friendly & fairly well conversant with the english language, given their different nationalities . There were some disappointments with maintenance issues, not only in our cabin but other people spoke of problems. To their credit, within 5 minutes of being bought to the attention of the service desk maintenance people were at our cabin to fix the issues mentioned. To compensate for our inconvenience & to our surprise we were offered the choice of 2 dining venues for a complementary meal. I am sure leaving an anchor behind in a port (chain cut) because this was stuck in the mud & could not be raised by the onboard machinery is not an everyday occurrence but added to the variation & interest from the norm. At all times we were kept up to date by capt. Diego.(whom we have sailed with before). Nobody could do anything about the 3-4 m waves around the gt aust. Bright, further advised by capt. Diego hours before this started. The effect of this was a reduction in speed for 2 1/2 days meaning we by-passed busselton but this wasn't an issue because we all arrived safely home due to the skill & expertise of the captain & crew. This is an old ship, has been sold & these issues are not the norm for this cruise line. Washing hands was insisted upon before entering a dining room & always has been. Dining & food was always a1. Well presented & tasted even better. The maitre d in the deck 14 dining room was a delight. Staff were always at hand to assist with seating, & assisting the elderly whenever they saw a need for this or not, lending an arm or just carrying a plate of food. They were always asking if we wanted a drink of iced water, iced tea or coffee & used dishes cleared from every table quickly & efficiently. Entertainment was v.good with us seeing both sessions of one comedian's show. the volume in the theatres is too high, especially for those of us with hearing aids. Even removing these did not prove a viable option for me because l was still blasted. At a presentation with crew associated with productions & 'what happened behind the scenes' l did raise this issue but was told, 'lowering the sound may impede the overall effect of the production, l will speak to the sound guy & you may need to sit there or there' (pointing). My reply, 'l was sitting there last night & the lady next to me had to remove her hearing aids & told me so.' (i had seen her do so & told her). Many folk on cruises are elderly, l believe & the fact many were leaving 'in their droves' after the start of some performances must be an indication to organizers what is right & what is not. Fold up mobility scooters were plentiful here as were the bigger type. Cruises are all about doing what you want to do with your time, & the options are plentiful. Shopping was great but we also enjoyed being able to just sit in a lounge with a book of puzzles, having a quiet coffee & sitting taking in the delightful sounds of the solo or duo (at times), entertainers. Music seem to resonate every where in the ship which we enjoyed. Many people took advantage of the library playing games, borrowing books, doing jig-saws or just reading. We took a few laps of the decks from time to time. Apparently 3 laps is equivalent to 1 mile. We didn't take advantage of 'movies under the stars' because the weather was a little cool for us, neither did we swim. Some activities organized by the activities dept were little more than 40 -45 mins of 'doing your own thing'. I thought card making was going to be constructive where we would be shown a technique. On a previous cruise we were shown paper flower making & other interesting things to do. Our crew member spread items around & then ran to & fro to the department returning with other bits & bobs before saying, '5 minutes left.' We are hoping for something more next time, something we can get our teeth into, if we still have our own teeth. We attended many interesting demonstrations on board. We plan to sail with them for many years to come, hope to do another cruise within the next 12 months & have already started to plan our 2022 cruise with princess cruises for a double celebration. We both reach 70 years of age in february 2022 & celebrate 50 years of marriage in may of 2022.

Cramped, some maintenance issues as mentioned but rectified.
Bathroom too small to dry off in after a shower. One elderly passenger told us off next to the bed was easier.
Air conditioning wasn't cool enough at night. A doona & sheet are on the bed, but even just a sheet was too much at times. In spite of directions not to do so, sometimes having the Balcony door open was a welcome relief.

    Great itinary by our guide, interesting places visited but unfortunately due to the fires the city was barely visible. Would still recommend this as a must do excursion.
