We are seasoned cruisers ( over 30 cruises) and traveled with 3 other couples all experienced cruisers. We have sailed RCL, Carnival, Norwegian, Princess and Viking. We hadn't sailed on Princess in 7 years and decided to try the Regal. It met our schedule and the reviews were mostly positive. The passengers on this sailing were mostly seniors like us. There was a group on board "Concert at Sea" but they did not interfere with activities at all
We stayed the night before at Hampton Inn Plantation. We have stayed there before and liked the location and price. We took the shuttle to the port at noon. Since the ship was in wet dock the week before, we could go directly to our rooms.
ROOMS: We had 4 rooms fairly close on deck 7 -deluxe balcony. We remembered that the regular balcony rooms do not provide seating so decided to go with the deluxe. Our room was clean, had sufficient storage and a wonderful cabin steward (Fidel). However, the balcony is extremely small from other cruise lines. Not an issue for us.
Great location! We like being closer to the stairs and being in between floors of cabins for less noise. Cabin was in very good condition. And we loved our cabin steward. The balcony was small but not an issue for us.
