  3. Regal Princess
We are seasoned cruisers ( over 30 cruises) and traveled with 3 other couples all experienced cruisers. We have sailed RCL, Carnival, Norwegian, Princess and Viking. We hadn't sailed on Princess in 7 years and decided to try the Regal. It met our schedule and the reviews were mostly positive. The passengers on this sailing were mostly seniors like us. There was a group on board "Concert at Sea" but they did not interfere with activities at all We stayed the night before at Hampton Inn Plantation. We have stayed there before and liked the location and price. We took the shuttle to the port at noon. Since the ship was in wet dock the week before, we could go directly to our rooms. ROOMS: We had 4 rooms fairly close on deck 7 -deluxe balcony. We remembered that the regular balcony rooms do not provide seating so decided to go with the deluxe. Our room was clean, had sufficient storage and a wonderful cabin steward (Fidel). However, the balcony is extremely small from other cruise lines. Not an issue for us. DINING: We had anytime dining but requested, after the first night with Dion-head maître D, that we have a table for the rest of the week. He assigned us to table 56 in a lovely location at 5:30. First time we ever had an early seating. We truly lucked out with a wonderful waiter and assistant waiter-Arsenio and Benji. They provided excellent service every night with efficiency and smiles. We all thought the food in the dining room (Symphany) was delicious with some choices better than others. We ate one night in the Concerto dining room because the ship had open seating that night due to late excursions in St Thomas. All had to be on board by 9:30 pm. We ate several mornings in the Concerto dining room for breakfast-also very good. Lunch was often in Horizon Court and some breakfasts too. The food was very good with many excellent choices. Getting seating for 8 was sometimes a challenge but doable. Also, we all enjoyed delicious burgers, hot dogs and pizza. Overall, I thought the food and service were great and felt no need to go to a specialty restaurant. ENTERTAINMENT: The entertainment was enjoyable. We all enjoy the shows when cruising and try to get to all of them. We enjoyed the singers, dancers and the Princess orchestra-extremely talented and we always prefer a live orchestra. The Princess orchestra was top notch. Loved the nightly music in the Piazza too. Beatlemanics did a great job looking and sounding so much like the original Beatles. Loved the music and the videos of the Beatles. The comedian-Troy (sorry can't remember last name) was one of the funniest we have ever seen! I would definitely pay to see him again. He was the best. HOWEVER-the theater is too small for the amount of passengers. Never have we ever had to go 45 min prior to a show to assure that we got seats. Princess-what were you thinking?? This was said by many passengers all week-such a poor design. And if you are seated in the seats below, you cannot see unless you are very tall. SERVICE: Overall, we were extremely pleased with the service. Most of the crew were friendly and attentive. Getting service poolside sometimes was slow but never a big problem. We all had the Premium Drink Package which was a perk included in our cruise. We didn't do any excursions since we all had been to the ports many times. The ladies did do massages and thought the spa did a good job. My lady tried to sell me products but once I said I was not going to buy anything right up front, she stopped. MEDALLION: We liked using the medallion but so many features were not working well or at all. Definitely needs work. We couldn't connect with all our travel companions or order drinks etc. Debarkation was easy and quick. We did the EZ luggage and it worked well. FINAL THOUGHTS: Luckily, The casino wasn't too smoky-guess the week in wet dock helped. We enjoyed the Regal very much. WE wish were were still on her! Loved her beauty, crew, food and service. We would definitely do another Princess cruise if the timing and itinerary worked for us.

Cabin Review

Cabin BD
Great location! We like being closer to the stairs and being in between floors of cabins for less noise. Cabin was in very good condition. And we loved our cabin steward. The balcony was small but not an issue for us.
