We took this cruise because we wanted to leave out of the New York area and having sailed on the Anthem several years earlier we would do it again. What a difference in the dining experience. We had the anytime dining and since we reserved the times getting a table went fairly smoothly. The wait staff on the most part was friendly. The food was far below what it had been on prior cruise with RCL. It was tasteless and cold. Portions were small, same amount of shrimp on an entree dish as in the shrimp cocktail. Seasoning was forgotten on most dishes. I am not a foodie on any level and yet found it difficult to find something to choose. The choices were repetitive and quality was not there. The meal felt rushed, I suppose by ordering appetizers the entree and desert all at once is a timesaver but when the desert comes before your coffee not a good sign. The other item that seemed out of the ordinary was available items not on menu but had to be asked for. The menu listed chocolate vanilla and strawberry for the ice cream. Two days into the cruise i noticed someone having sherbet and asked the waiter about it and said you have to ask for alternate choices. What was funny was told there was no pistachio after the waiter said it was available, all of a sudden on the last evening the pistachio ice cream appeared obviously air lifted in. The Windjammer was not any better repetitive options as well as hidden items. You had to ask for certain cereals which was kept under the counter, a fellow passenger pointed that out to me. On the positive side the crew was friendly and tried to make our cruise a wonderful experience. The ship is well maintained but some of the chairs and couches could use some freshening up as they appeared to be showing their age.

Entertainment staff seemed less then enthusiastic and made it seem that the trivia contests, which were always well attended, was something to be rushed through and gotten over with. Two of the shows were the same as four years ago and need to be updated.

Did not go on any excursions having been to these islands on past cruises.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony

Cabin was comfortable with plenty of storage. Shower was large for cruise standards.
