The Equinox / Solstice class ship did not disappoint again- this was our 4th time on the Equinox and the addition of Captain Tassos was a huge plus – having sailed with him before on the Solstice he is by far the funniest and most entertaining of all the Celebrity captains we have had. Boarding was a breeze as was departure. It was great fun- the musical entertainment was very good and Kevin Jordan and Dan Wilson were great comedians. Everyone was having a FUN time ( as opposed to the boring Edge) ; cruise director Lauren was very enthusiastic ; the crew was terrific; some features were upgraded on what we heard was a time short refit (still have limited tv channel selection / map channel 1 has very limited info and needs work ), small fridges still that really don’t get cold) ; our stateroom attendant Egipcio was incredible – went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and remembered all the little things the Equinox orchestra with the horn section was very good and house band was great also as were quartet ,solo and duet entertainers as well ; the Paul McCartney tribute band was also great; Having the NFL conference games on the lawn deck outdoor screens was very enjoyable (something the Edge chose not to do) ; the additional tv’s in the Craft bar also a big plus for sports watching ; The regular dining rooms were nice and staff very nice- the food seemed a bit better than on Silhouette (the steak featured on the Steak frites night was the best we have had on any Celebrity cruise) ; the strip steaks still thin and not very appetizing; the beef Wellington also was much better than on Silhouette; 2 different types of French Fries continues- nice steak fries with Steak Frites dinner - otherwise it is the same tasteless coated fries throughout; the Oceanview café was generally good - the bakery section as always was outstanding; the Mast grill still serves up low end quality cold hamburgers and cold hot dogs ( they are cooked way up in advance and not kept warm- Celebrity needs to go observe a high volume burger joint to see how it is done internet coverage was very good; at the Sunset bar still had to put up with smokers smoke bleeding over all the time to non smoking side- Celebrity has got to address this periodically the washrooms did not have warm water, only cold and that is always a concern on any cruise ship- this is something we have experienced before on Solstice class ships ; also a few time where there were no towels The bar staff at both the Passport bar ( Komang, I Kadek, Armand,and Megan were super as was both the Jamaican lady and eastern European bartenders in the Ensemble lounge ( name tags fonts are way to small and dark so apologize could not read their names) were great. O’Neil at the Sunset bar was also excellent. Name tags on staff still make it impossible as they are dark lettering on dark background in small fonts -we can’t read their names so they can’t get the credit they deserve ; Happy to be back on the Equinox ! Never to return to Edge class ships.

It was great fun- the musical entertainment was very good and Kevin Jordan and Dan Wilson were great comedians. Everyone was having a FUN time ( as opposed to the boring Edge) ; cruise director Lauren was very enthusiastic ; the crew was terrific; some features were upgraded on what we heard was a time short refit (still have limited tv channel selection / map channel 1 has very limited info and needs work ), small fridges still that really don’t get cold) ;

our stateroom attendant Egipcio was incredible – went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of and remembered all the little things

the Equinox orchestra with the horn section was very good and house band was great also as were quartet ,solo and duet entertainers as well ; the Paul McCartney tribute band was also great;

Having the NFL conference games on the lawn deck outdoor screens was very enjoyable (something the Edge chose not to do) ; the additional tv’s in the Craft bar also a big plus for sports watching ;

The regular dining rooms were nice and staff very nice- the food seemed a bit better than on Silhouette (the steak featured on the Steak frites night was the best we have had on any Celebrity cruise) ; the strip steaks still thin and not very appetizing; the beef Wellington also was much better than on Silhouette; 2 different types of French Fries continues- nice steak fries with Steak Frites dinner - otherwise it is the same tasteless coated fries throughout; the Oceanview café was generally good - the bakery section as always was outstanding; the Mast grill still serves up low end quality cold hamburgers and cold hot dogs ( they are cooked way up in advance and not kept warm- Celebrity needs to go observe a high volume burger joint to see how it is done

internet coverage was very good; at the Sunset bar still had to put up with smokers smoke bleeding over all the time to non smoking side- Celebrity has got to address this

periodically the washrooms did not have warm water, only cold and that is always a concern on any cruise ship- this is something we have experienced before on Solstice class ships ; also a few time where there were no towels

The bar staff at both the Passport bar ( Komang, I Kadek, Armand,and Megan were super as was both the Jamaican lady and eastern European bartenders in the Ensemble lounge ( name tags fonts are way to small and dark so apologize could not read their names) were great. O’Neil at the Sunset bar was also excellent.

Name tags on staff still make it impossible as they are dark lettering on dark background in small fonts -we can’t read their names so they can’t get the credit they deserve ;

Happy to be back on the Equinox ! Never to return to Edge class ships.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda (partially obstructed view)
Cabin 2C
slight blockage of view from lifeboats but very acceptable; in future would prefer more to midship as faint noise from disco at night; very comfortable bed; good shower; as in all Solstice class ships refrigerator not very cold;
Continental Deck Balcony Cabins, Suite Cabins
