We are first time Celebrity cruisers having sailed on NCL and Carnival and had high expectations for the dining on the Summit. The first noticeable thing was the distinct demographic of retired affluent people. If you saw kid running around it was like seeing a unicorn. However, rascals were abundant racing to the buffet or casino. The MDR turned out to be a hot mess. The food quality was better in the buffet then in the MDR. The Tuscan Grill was awesome and Sushi on 5 was like a well kept secret. It was virtually empty every time we went. We also tried the sea day seafood special in Qsine which was could have been better organized because the amount of salmon given was more than enough for dinner and was much too large of a portion. Out of all our cruises, we made the most connections with the staff on this cruise. Service was top notch. The bartenders work very hard especially those at the martini bar. The two cabin issues were handled promptly. The entertainment was ok for the length of the cruise. The magic act lacked magic and included about a 10 minute youtube video of the magician doing a stunt on a reality tv show! The two comedians were good. The singers and stage productions were really good. Soloists and duets floated around the ship. There was only a single newlywed type game show which was great but there should have been more audience participation shows. Overall, NCL and Carnival do better by providing more shows. Overall, it was an enjoyable cruise and I'd sail on the Summit again.

Cabin Review

This aft cabin is near elevators that go directly up to the buffet area and down to the MDR.
